Click the X on the panel to turn off both SRD and iSRD. I'm pretty sure when you click on the SRD tab, iSRD is no longer active. But you can't choose to leave one activated and the other not. I can't turn off only ONE Scratch Removal Detection (SRD) utility, leaving the other on (iSRD) and viceversa.ĮIther you deactivate or activate BOTH utilities. ISRD is the hardware based Scratch Removal Detection utility that this scanner has.īut, as we had discussed in this thread, HW based scratch removal sometimes doesn't work.Īs you can see, there is no way to turn it off. If I click on the iSRD button, I do get a pane as you mentioned: Then click on the SRD tab.Īl.Goye Maybe I didn't make myself clear:
I'm using a Mac.Īl, click on the iSRD button and that should open up a new dialog box or pin a dialog box to the left sided of the screen called Dust and Scratch Removal. How can I use the SRD based option and NOT the iSRD? I mean, I'm using SilverFast 8 Ai release 13 (the latest until now) and there are no SRD / iSRD panes separated. This kit can be used to calibrate the scanner for colour accuracy and. I actually have the same problem stated here. Also provided is Silverfast SE 8, a sophisticated scanning application with dust. I soup my own film so "Dust, what dust?"Īctually its so easy to retouch in Photoshop ISRD is hardly worth any image degradation it might cause. I may have had that switched on by accident. You can use SRD (software based dust and scratch removal). This is true for any scanner, not just Plustek. Unfortunately, IR dust and scratch removal doesn't work with silver halide based films. My guess is you are scanning silver halide based black and white film and using iSRD.
Anyone had small, peculiar geometric shapes show up on black and white film scans.
